Wu Xiong: Who exactly are you?
Rainie: I’m Rainie.
Gui Gui: You know Aaron?
Rainie: I’m the disciple of Aaron’s aunt. I believed you would have heard of me.
Gui Gui: Aaron told us about you!!
Wu Xiong: You must have seen Xiu, right?!
Rainie: Yea.
Wu Xiong: *excited* Where is he now? Didn’t he come with you?
Rainie: He was in danger.
Wu Xiong: *exclaims loudly* Why didn’t you say so earlier?
Just when Wu Xiong is about to step out of the house, Rainie stopped her.
Rainie: He is currently safe. Don’t worry, you will get to see him soon.
Hebe: You are saying as if you are the kidnapper. *raises an eyebrow*
Rainie: You know I’m not. I predicted Xiu’s near future when I met him. He was indeed going down the route of meeting danger but he seemed to have got himself out of it and is currently safe.
Wu Xiong, Gui Gui and Hebe heaved a sigh of relief.
Gui Gui: Then why did you ask the three of us to get ready to help? Xiu is already safe.
Rainie: It’s Aaron. He is nearing the line of a deep chasm of danger and if you don’t get to him in time, I’m afraid it will be too late. A friend might become a foe.
Gui Gui was almost hysterical when she heard Rainie.
Gui Gui: Please help us!!
Rainie: I can’t do much. I’m just a gypsy. I can show you the way though.
Hebe: Hang on. A friend might become a foe? What do you mean by this?
Rainie: You are clever enough to guess that. I don’t need to explain any further.
Hebe: Are you talking about Aaron?
Rainie: I just hope this prediction doesn’t come true.
With that, Rainie stood up and headed towards the door, signaling the three of them to follow suit.
Gui Gui’s heart sank at the numerous thoughts of danger Aaron could be facing and she couldn’t help reminding herself about Rainie’s words of cautions about Aaron. Ignoring the medley of feelings she is now facing, Gui Gui pulled herself together as she follows the rest in search of Aaron and Xiu.
----At the same moment----
A distance away
Aaron looked around, hoping to pick up Xiu’s scent once again. However, his efforts seemed futile as he could not get any hint of Xiu’s whereabouts.
Determined not to give up, Aaron continued the search as he proceeds to the next town.
Minutes later, Aaron reached a deserted town. The night made the town seemed even more abandoned and Aaron couldn’t help but heighten his alertness.
He stepped cautiously along the pavement, noticing each and every detail of the town and trying to pick up the presence of other strangers.
It was almost certain that the town had not been populated for a while and Aaron wondered why.
Just then, Aaron heard the rustling of the leaves followed by the rummaging of things nearby.
Alarmed by the presence of another party, Aaron held on tightly to his sword, ready to strike. Just then, a figure swept behind him like lightning and it disappeared into thin air almost immediately. Aaron turned but he couldn’t catch sight of the culprit.
Again, he proceeded cautiously, hoping to get another hint of the person’s hideout. He was pretty sure it isn’t just a normal human being. That would be either a vampire or a hunter. He was too fast for Aaron to figure out.
Aaron: *Called out* Who are you?
As expected, the only answer to Aaron’s question was the cold breeze accompanied by the soft rustle of leaves and the soft creak of those rusty doors of the shophouses.
Just then, someone called out to him from a distance. It seemed like the other party had no intention to reveal himself.
‘I sent the secret message’ He said.
Within a second, Aaron knew exactly what he meant.
Aaron: You…sent it? Why?
‘I just don’t want this word to lose another good hunter’. He replied almost immediately.
Aaron: Why aren’t you showing your face? Sounds like you are supporting the good than the evil.
‘What I support isn’t important. You just need to concentrate on your fight.’ The stranger said coldly.
Aaron: The fight against evil?
‘The fight against yourself. Aaron Yan, your only enemy would be yourself.’ The stranger called out.
With that, he left the scene swiftly without giving Aaron a chance to ask further questions.
He couldn’t figure out the meaning of the other party’s words.
Aaron: *mumbling to himself* I am my only enemy?
Aaron was too engrossed in considering the stranger’s statement that he did not realize the presence of another vampire. It was Ella.
Ella: Miss me?
Aaron: *turns around* I didn’t know you are that persistent.
Ella walked towards Aaron, smiling. Aaron could sense a cold chill speeding down his spine but he controlled his emotions well enough not to be detected by Ella.
Aaron: Won the lottery?
Ella: *smirks* Well, Aaron, why don’t I tell you something interesting?
Aaron: Nothing about you interests me.
Ella: Well then how about Gui Gui?
Aaron glared at Ella: What do you mean?
Ella: Let’s say, I have got her in my hands. What price would you pay to get her to safety?
Aaron: *scoffs* You are lying. Gui Gui is safe with Hebe and Wu Xiong. You wouldn’t be able to get anywhere near them.
Ella: Not if I have help. *Smirks*
Just then, someone approached from the dark. It was the figure of a lady.
Ella: Let me introduce to you my ally. Rainie.
Rainie: *smiles* Hi Aaron.
Aaron: *frowns* Rainie? You….
Rainie: Yea, I’m your aunt’s disciple. But I got tired of my job. So I decided to switch sides for a refreshing start. *smiles*
Aaron: What did you do to Gui Gui?
Rainie: I just told them about you. Well, look how important you are to them. They fell into my trap, flat.
Aaron: Where in the world are they now!!!!
Rainie: Save. FOR NOW.
Ella: Exactly. If you don’t pay the price you must, they would perish.
Aaron: You want me dead, isn’t it? You can have your wish!
Ella: *fake puppy look* Dead? I don’t want you dead. *Smiles* That would all go to waste.
Aaron: Then what are you after?
Ella: I want you evil.
Aaron frowned deeply as he looked at her intensely. He could see where this is going. Ella wanted him to be evil. She wants to conquer the entire vampire world.
Aaron: I won’t do it.
Ella: Then they won’t be saved. Well, it all depends on you.
Ella handed Aaron an ancient-looking bottle that contained a red fluid. Blood.
Ella: Well, drink this and you would get them saved.
Aaron: While turning evil in the meanwhile. What exactly is this?!
Ella: Well, you know, haven you been searching high and low for a remedy to take away your vampire powers? This is somewhat the opposite. It takes away your hunter’s powers and turns you into a full blast vampire. Well, an evil one. It all depends on you again. The world, or your beloveds?
Aaron couldn’t think straight. He knew he couldn’t sacrifice the world for a few beings but he couldn’t bear to see Gui Gui die because of him.
Just when Aaron’s in a deep dilemma, someone appeared and attacked Ella from behind. It was Xiu.
Rainie: *smirks* I knew you would be here.
Xiu: I guess you predict everything well after all. What happened to ‘I can’t predict the future!’ ?
Rainie: *smiles* Just a little small act. I can’t believe you didn’t see through it.
Xiu frowned and glared at Rainie while Ella grabbed her shoulder tightly in pain as she was bleeding from the wound Xiu had just created on her.
Ella: Xiu.
Xiu: *shakes his head* I knew you were up to something.
Just when Xiu was about to attack Ella, Aaron stopped him.
Aaron: Xiu, stop it.
Xiu: Why?
Aaron: Ella, give me three days. You will get an answer.
Ella: Fine. Rainie, let’s go.
With that, the two of them left the scene, leaving Xiu and Aaron.
Xiu: Aaron, what’s going on? Buddy, you got to tell me!
Aaron: *frowned* In a few days time, I might not be your buddy anymore…
