Before Xiu could even reply, someone called out: ‘Don’t hurt him!’

Xiu turned around and he was surprise to see Han. He had almost forgotten that Wu Zun is Han’s brother.

Han: Chun, please don’t hurt him.

Wu Zun: Han, why are you still obsessed with him? He had already got himself a girlfriend!

Wu Xiong was sure Wu Zun was referring to her and she looked at Xiu, barely able to withhold the millions of questions within her.

Xiu notices Wu Xiong’s stares but he just had no idea where to begin the story of him and Han. He could only look at Wu Xiong pleadingly, his eyes revealing thousands apologies that could only be expressed indirectly.

Xiu turned towards Wu Zun and Han, determined.

Xiu: I won’t let you hurt my friends.

Wu Zun: It’s not up to you to decide. It’s too easy to kill all of you.

Han: *frowned* Chun, please. Don’t hurt him. Don’t hurt…them.

Xiu was taken aback by Han’s request to Wu Zun. He had not expected her to plead on their behalf.

Wu Zun: Han, look at Xiu, he doesn’t love you anymore.

Han frowned and looked down: I don’t care about that. I only care for his safety.

Xiu: *surprised* Han

Wu Zun: Fine! If Xiu would stay with us, I would let them go.

Ella was taken aback by this sudden change in event. However, she dared not make any comments on Wu Zun’s words.

Ella POV: If I were to object to this, they would definitely fight against me. I am no match to them…

Wu Xiong: Xiu…

Xiu frowned deeply and he closed his eyes to aid in his incoherent thoughts. He knows he would have to make a choice, right now, right here.

Aaron: *determined* Don’t waste your breath. We rather fight you then to hand Xiu over to you!

Hebe: Exactly! We don’t seem to be at a disadvantage!

Xiu: I will stay.

Xiu’s voice was clear and crisp and it echoed in the darkness loud and determined. Silence followed closely after his words and it formed a blanket hanging in the air, adding on tension to the environment.

Xiu was the one who broke the silence: I will stay. Aaron, leave with the team. I can take care of myself.

Wu Xiong: Xiu! You

Xiu: *interrupts* I have already decided. Nothing can change my mind.

Wu Xiong: What are you saying?!

Xiu: I will stay.

Wu Zun: That’s it then. Aaron Yan, you can leave with your team.

Aaron: *frowned* in no condition will we leave you here!

Xiu: *turned to face Aaron* You have to leave. Look at Gui Gui, you know she needs help! You need to escape now, or never. Don’t worry, we will meet again. *frowned* Please, you know this is the best for all of us. Aaron, please, take care of Wu Xiong for me.

Wu Xiong: *exclaims* Xiu! Don’t do this! Don’t leave us!

Xiu turned his back on Wu Xiong and walked towards Wu Zun and Han. He couldn’t bare seeing Wu Xiong’s expression because he knew he would give in to her requests if he were to look into her eyes.

Han smiled at Xiu as she looked at him heading towards her. However, he did not return her smile even though he was walking in her direction. Xiu was in no mood to show Han any gratitude.

George and Hebe were grabbing hold of Wu Xiong, stopping her from going after Xiu.
Aaron POV: Xiu, I will save you soon.

Wu Zun: Ella, you will get your revenge another day. I promise.

Ella frowned but she dared not object to Wu Zun’s suggestion. She held her silence and stood rooted to the ground, watching Wu Zun, Han and Xiu walk away. After which, she summoned her vampires to leave with her.

Aaron: Let’s go.

Wu Xiong: Aaron, why did you let Xiu sacrifice himself?! How can you be that selfish?!!!

Aaron: Wu Xiong, I’m sorry but I promise you, I will get him back. I will.

Wu Xiong: *tears flowing down her cheeks* You are lying!! You told us you would save Gui Gui and Xiu and now that you have saved Gui Gui, you are willing to let go of Xiu!!!

Hebe: How can you speak of Aaron like that?!

Wu Xiong: You don’t know how I feel! Do you even know what would happen to Xiu?! I don’t and that’s why we should never let him go!

George: Wu Xiong, calm down. We will draw up a plan soon enough!

Rainie: He will be saved.

George, Wu Xiong, Hebe and Aaron looked at Rainie, taken back by her presence.

George: *Coldly* I thought you have left.

Rainie: I told you, I’m not the traitor.

Wu Xiong: What did you say just now? Xiu will be saved?

Rainie: That’s what I predict.

Wu Xiong: How?!

Rainie: I will help you but you guys have to trust me.

Hebe: That’s the last thing we would do.

Wu Xiong: I don’t care if you are lying or not! I trust you!

Rainie: George?

George: *reluctant* Whatever Wu Xiong says.

Rainie felt better as she regarded George’s words as a new beginning of acceptance.

Aaron: Okay, we have to find a hideout.

Hebe: Aaron’s right. Let’s go!

----In a cottage house in the nearby town---

Gui Gui was still unconscious and she was placed comfortably on the bed.

Aaron: George, what will happen to her?

George: Like what Ella said, a normal person could be turned into a vampire by drinking that blood.

Aaron: You mean…Gui Gui’s a vampire now?

George: Not really.

Hebe: What do you mean by not really?!

George: That’s the tricky part. Gui Gui isn’t entirely a normal being. She has hunter bloodline within her. That makes her different.

Aaron: You mean, there is a chance for her to be human again?

George: *sighs* I don’t know about that yet.

Rainie: I know. We can make use of the hunter within her to overturn her situation. After all, she had not taken any human blood.

Wu Xiong: Hunter within her?

Rainie: Yea.

Aaron: But, Gui Gui told us she did not inherit any hunter’s ability from her parent!

Rainie: There is something that Gui Gui doesn’t even know.

George: What do you mean?

Rainie: She can be a hunter, a real hunter.
