George looked intensely at Rainie’s back and he regretted himself for trusting her.
However, to his surprise, Selina spoke and distracted his thoughts.

Selina: Ella, how are you going to thank me?

Ella: Well, perhaps a meal?

George was taken aback by this sudden change of events. Selina was the traitor! To think he had been doubting Rainie all along…

Xiu: Selina…you…

Rainie: Selina! How could you?

Selina ignored the rest of them and walked towards Ella.

Xiu: Whatever it is, we can still defeat you.

Rainie: Selina, why did you betray us? Weren’t you helping us all along?

Selina: Helping you? I was helping Ella!

Xiu: You…

George: You made us turn Gui Gui into a vampire on purpose. There was no other vampire who could fulfill the prophecy, right?

Selina: No George, there was really another vampire’s presence, you saw it with your own eyes and you shall now see it again.

Just then, a figure appeared from the chamber door. There it stood, a handsome figure walking towards Ella and Selina.

Ella: Well, but Selina did turn Gui Gui into a vampire on purpose. I don’t know who will fulfill the prophecy. I wanted the chance of fulfilling the prophecy to increase. That’s why I wanted Gui Gui to become a vampire too.

Xiu: You had been plotting all of these!

Rainie: I trusted you…

Selina: So what? You trusted George but he doubted you all along!

Rainie looked at George, who made no effort to meet her eyes. Guilt was written all over his face but Rainie didn’t care.

Rainie: Thanks to you, he trusts me now and that’s enough for me.

George: *taken aback* Rainie…

Ella: Well, just before all of you think that you could get out of here alive, I shall introduce you to your killer tonight. The new born vampire- Danson.

Danson looked at the three of them with cold and sharp eyes. It was hard to imagine that he had been a normal person before. He seemed cold and ruthless.

Without a word, Danson ran towards the team with lightning speed and he managed to catch all of them off guard. Xiu was his first target. Xiu tried his very best to fend him off but Danson seemed to be too strong for him.

With a strong and forceful push, Xiu was thrown across the room and he collided into the wall, suffering several deep wounds.

Rainie and George watched as Xiu groaned in pain. However, George had to force himself to focus on fighting the enemy.

Danson dashed towards George who had already gotten ready to brace the attack. With a swift and agile jump, George managed to dodge Danson’s cruel attacks.

George retaliated by grabbing Danson by his collar and he threw Danson across the room, just like how Xiu was thrown.

However, Danson was able to land to safety with great agility.

Rainie and Xiu: George, let’s go!

George: Don’t worry about me! Just go!

Rainie: George!

Rainie called out as she pleaded George to leave with them.

George: Xiu, grab Rainie and go! Now!!!

Knowing George’s intention to protect Rainie, Xiu followed his instructions and managed to drag Rainie out of the room.

Ella made no attempt to stop Xiu and Rainie. She was too focused on George, who was standing there in the room, fearless.

Ella: You know, George, I don’t really like betrayers. But I shall give you a chance right now, to abide by me and stay on my side.

George: Ella, you are wasting my time.

Ella: All right. You know, I don’t only have Danson as my triumph card. I have other precious items on my hands right now and one of them could make you my best subordinate again.

George frowned upon the news.

George: Ella, what are you up to?

---The other side---

She opened her eyes and looked at the surrounding, slowly and cautiously. She then placed her foot onto the ground and helped herself up from the bed.

A thought strike her and she quickly proceeded to the door and dashed along the corridor, searching around.

Just then, she bypassed a room with the door wide open and a handsome man lying on the bed. He seemed to be in a deep and peaceful sleep that no one could draw him from.

She stepped into the lonely room and walked slowly towards the man, with tears flowing down her cheeks.

She: Aaron…

She walked to his side and sat on the bed, staring at him.

She: Aaron…..I’m Gui Gui….What happened to you?

Just then, Wu Xiong entered the room and she was shock to see Gui Gui staying by Aaron.

Wu Xiong: Gui Gui! *exclaims* You are…awake!!! And….you are a vampire noe!
Gui Gui turned and asked immediately: Wu Xiong, what happened to him? Something’s wrong.

Wu Xiong: He was poisoned by Ella and now, we couldn’t find the antidote for him. He fell into a deep coma right after he turned you into a vampire.

Gui Gui: What should we do now?!!!

Wu Xiong tries to reassure her: Don’t worry! George, Rainie, Selina and Xiu went searching for the antidote. They will be back soon!

Hebe: *ran into the room* Gui Gui! You are awake!

Gui Gui: Hebe!

Just then, a loud bang could be heard from downstairs. Someone had barged through the front door.

Wu Xiong: *frowned* Xiu?!

Without another word, Wu Xiong dashed downstairs and came face to face with Rainie and Wu Xiong.

Right at the moment he sees Wu Xiong, Xiu spoke quietly.

Xiu: *Frowned* They are coming.

Aaron fell into a deep coma ever since yesterday, when he had successfully turned Gui Gui. Gui Gui had not woke up from her death sleep but everyone was too concerned for Aaron to worry about Gui Gui.

Xiu looked at Aaron and reproached himself: We should have paid more attention to his wound and what Ella injected into him.

Wu Xiong: Wasn’t your fault. We all had a part to play.

Hebe: What should we do now?

Rainie: Selina, have you encountered this before?

Selina: *Shakes her head* No. Who poisoned him?

Rainie: Ella did. She always does that to her vampire assassins.

George: Is there a remedy for it? Any antidote?

Rainie: I’m not sure…I had never seen her used it before. Maybe I can….

George: No, don’t do it.

Rainie: *taken aback* How did you know what I was intending to…

George: *interrupts* You might not get the antidote even if you go to Ella’s. You could be killed easily.

Xiu: Not if we accompany her.

Hebe: You mean, some of us escort Rainie and protect her while she sneaks in to steal an antidote?

Rainie: It would be risking your life too!

Xiu: Don’t worry about it. We can protect you and ourselves well enough.

George: I’m going.

Xiu: Me too.

Wu Xiong: I’m also going!

Selina: Wu Xiong, you stay here. I shall go with them. Ella’s binding spell works only on Rainie and if I were to go, we could predict what happens.

Xiu: Selina’s right. Wu Xiong, you stay here with Hebe and Gui Gui. I will ask Han over to help too.

A strong sense of uneasiness stirred involuntarily in Wu Xiong. She couldn’t help but feel jealousy rising in her.

Wu Xiong: *dejected* All right then…

---2 hours later----

Xiu stood at the front of the house, waiting for Han.

Wu Xiong approached him slowly, withholding many thoughts in her mind. Xiu, sensing the presence of Wu Xiong, turned to face her with a smile.

Xiu: You have gotten ready?

Wu Xiong: Yea…

Xiu: You look distracted. Don’t worry, we will be back safe.

Wu Xiong: I’m worried about…

Xiu: I know what other concerns you have as well. Han is just my best friend. She had extended her help during the toughest times and I believe she had totally given up on wanting to be with me.

Wu Xiong: *taken aback* You…you knew what I was worried about?

Xiu: You know, it’s easier to guess your emotions than to fight evil vampires. *Smirks*

Wu Xiong: *beats him on his shoulder* Irritating Xiu!

Xiu: *hugs her suddenly* Wu Xiong, you must remember forever, that I, like how Aaron loves Gui Gui, will love you for eternity and will never give up the chance to love you more.

Wu Xiong: *tears welling up her eyes* I know…stop saying all these. You are making me tear.

Xiu: Well, my aim is to make you cry. *laughs*

Wu Xiong: *smiles* You are so evil. *fading smile* Xiu, you must get back safe…

Xiu: I will…

Han: Hi lovebirds!

Han walked towards the two of them, wearing a smile.

Han: What’s up?

Xiu: I need your help.

Han: I know.

Xiu: I’m sorry, Han. I didn’t mean to

Han: *interrupts* What are friends for? Hurry and do whatever you want. I will take care of them…

Xiu: Thanks!

With that, Xiu left Wu Xiong with Han. Han looked at Xiu as he left and smiled quietly to herself…

----Later---

The night was cold and the breeze blew ruthlessly against the icy cold face of Xiu, George, Rainie and Selina as they raced against time, rushing towards their destination.

Within an hour’s time, they had reached their destination- Ella’s mansion.

Selina: The coast is clear. Ella is having her feast in the deep woods…

Xiu: Let’s get in now.

Within another minute, the four of them got into the grand hall of the mansion.

George: Rainie, where would Ella put the antidote if she has one?

Rainie: In her chambers. She wouldn’t let any others in.

Xiu: Lead the way.

Rainie nodded and led the way to Ella’s chambers. Along the way, there were a couple of vampire guards patrolling the area but Xiu and George got rid of them within seconds without alerting others.

---In the chamber---

They had finally gain entry into Ella’s chamber. It was cold and dark as expected and Rainie strained her eyes as she proceeded with caution into the chamber.

Just then, the chamber’s lights were on and the chamber became brightly lit.

Down the hallway stood Ella and her presence surprised all of them.

Xiu: Ella?

Ella: If you wanted to come, just give me a call. There’s no need to BARGE in.
Xiu: How did you?

Ella: Don’t you know? You have a traitor amongst all of you.

George: Traitor?

Aaron stared at her who seemed nonchalant to Aaron’s stares. Of course, that was all her act for she does not want Aaron to worry too much. However, her efforts were futile.

Aaron: Hebe…why didn’t you tell all of us about this? We should have discussed it before hand!

Hebe: *frowned* Aaron, I don’t see any need to do so…

Aaron: And I don’t see any need for you to sacrifice as well! Gui Gui might not be the one who will fulfill that prophecy!

Before Hebe could reply, Wu Xiong and Xiu came running into the room, alerting Aaron and Hebe about the big news.

Wu Xiong: Gui Gui is awake! And she is Gui Gui right now! Not the vampire!

Xiu: Aaron, come on!

Without further ado, Aaron rushed out of the room towards Gui Gui’s room.

---Gui Gui’s Room---

Aaron: Gui Gui!

There she was, lying on the bed, smiling weakly at Aaron.

Gui Gui: Aaron…

Aaron dashed towards her and held on tightly to her hand the moment he reaches her bed.

Aaron: Gui Gui, how are you feeling right now?

Gui Gui: I’m fine…*Smiles sweetly* Aaron…

Aaron: Yea?

Gui Gui: You looked so tired. You must have been worried about me. Rainie told me all about you.

Rainie, who had been standing beside the bed all along, gave a small nod.

Aaron: Don’t worry. *Reassures her* You will be fine.

Gui Gui: Aaron, just….kill me.

Aaron was too astounded for words. He could not believe his ears.

Aaron: What……What are you talking about?!!

Gui Gui: I could no longer be a human again. I won’t risk myself being a vampire. I might be the one whom the prophecy refers to! I can’t let Hebe sacrifice for me too.
Hebe, who was standing at the door, looked at Gui Gui with tears in her eyes. She shakes her head slowly, as if wanting to tell Gui Gui that, to her, it is not a sacrifice at all.

Aaron: Don’t…Gui Gui, we will find a way to help you…

Just then, Selina entered into the room.

Selina: Aaron’s right.

Everyone in the room was taken aback by Selina’s words.

Xiu: What do you mean?

Selina: I just had a vision. The prophecy had been fulfilled, by The Real One…

Aaron: You mean….there’s a…

Selina: Yea. Someone, like Gui Gui, who came from a hunter’s family became a vampire yesterday. But I still had not found out the reason. George is now searching for the vampire, hoping to find out more about it.

Aaron heaved a small sigh of relief. The news that came seemed to be a new hope for all of them. By right, all of them should be worried about the fact that the prophecy had been fulfilled and that the vampire world would be in trouble but none of them seemed bothered or overcast by this. Instead, they were all glad that Gui Gui wasn’t the one whom the prophecy referred to and that would mean that she could even become a vampire without endangering the vampire world.

Wu Xiong: So Gui Gui can become a vampire?

Xiu: Can she be a hunter as well?

Selina: Rainie had told you guys before that either Gui Gui becomes a hunter, or dies and become a vampire.

Aaron: You mean…by drinking blood?

Selina: No.

Aaron: What do you mean by that? I thought she could have become a vampire by drinking blood? That’s why we tried so hard stopping her from drinking blood.

Selina: Drinking blood can turn her vampire but she would not be able to survive for long.

Xiu: What?!

Selina: She will experience what Aaron had experienced before and since she isn’t a full-fledged vampire, she couldn’t take it. She has to be turned into a vampire. She has to die before becoming a vampire.

Aaron: You mean…we have to turn her into a vampire?

Selina: Yea.

Silence hung in the air as everyone tried their best to digest the fact that Selina had just fed them. They couldn’t imagine turning Gui Gui into a vampire personally.
Just then, Gui Gui spoke quietly.

Gui Gui: I don’t want to be a hunter. I want to be a vampire and if I do, I want Aaron to do it.

Aaron: *frowned* Gui Gui…

Gui Gui: I trust you…

Aaron: I…

Selina: Aaron, you have to decide quickly. The vampire world would be in danger in no time if the prophecy was right. We have to build up our own army.

Wu Xiong, Hebe, Xiu and Rainie stepped forward.

Rainie: Aaron, you can do it.

Xiu: Yea buddy.

Hebe: Gui Gui needs you.

Wu Xiong: Yea!! Gui Gui will become one of us!!!

The rest of them turned to look at Wu Xiong. After all, she seemed to be too cheerful for the mood.

Wu Xiong: Am I right?

All of them smiled: Of course you are.

Aaron looked at Gui Gui: Gui Gui, I won’t let anything happen to you. *smiles*

Gui Gui: I know *smiles*

----The Next Night---

George had already come back with the news, confirming Selina’s vision that a vampire had been born to fulfill the prophecy. However, they had no time to worry about it as they were all concentrated on the fact that Aaron would be turning Gui Gui into a vampire tonight.

Aaron and Gui Gui was sitting in the garden, engrossed in each other’s thoughts. Just then, Gui Gui spoke softly.

Gui Gui: Aaron, we can be together for eternity.

Aaron: Won’t you get tired of me?

Gui Gui: Of course not. *smiles* I can never get tired of you.

Aaron: Look what I have got for you. I made it today.

Aaron took out a pair of rings carved from wood. It was sleek but nice and he slots it elegantly into Gui Gui’s ring finger.

Gui Gui laughs sweetly: That’s very beautiful!

Aaron: I made it for us. Only for us. I want you to keep this for eternity.

Gui Gui: I will. *Smiles*

Just then, Rainie walked into the garden.

Rainie: It’s time.

Aaron and Gui Gui went upstairs into the biggest room where all of them were present.

Wu Xiong, Xiu, Hebe, George and Rainie looked nervously as Selina closes the door after Aaron and Gui Gui entered.

The room soon fell into an abyss of silence as Aaron and Gui Gui in the center of the room.

Aaron pulled Gui Gui closer and into his embrace. He took a deep breath before opening his mouth, revealing his long and sharp canines.

Slowly and with great difficulty, he sunk his canines into the Gui Gui’s neck. He could feel her shudder for a moment and he nearly retracted his canines but he persisted.

It seemed eternity before Aaron finally feels life draining away from Gui Gui. Soon, she collapsed into his embrace.

At this moment, Aaron created a long wound onto his arm and fed her with his blood. He had completed what is to be done and he laid Gui Gui softly and gently on the floor.

Xiu: You did it

Hebe: Gui Gui

George: She will awake in a day’s time and become a vampire…

Aaron returned to his normal self and stood up to face the rest of them.

Aaron revealed a smile: It’s….a success….

Everyone smiled at him but before they could say another word, Aaron collapsed onto the floor and became unconscious.

Everyone: Aaron!!!

Aaron was taken aback by the scene right before his eyes. Gui Gui was revealing her canines and she looked ferocious and filled with hunger and thirst for blood. Never did it cross Aaron’s mind that Gui Gui would become like that.

Too shaken by Gui Gui’s behavior, Wu Xiong was almost shivering in disbelief and she couldn’t even mutter a word.

Rainie was the only one composed enough to speak.

Rainie: Aaron…she is about to turn…don’t give Ella a chance to feed her blood…

Ella: Well fight me if you can, traitor. *Smirks* Can’t predict what is going to happen next? *laughs* I had put a spell on myself such that you wouldn’t be able to use your powers to predict anything in the future as long as I am around you.

Rainie gritted her teeth in hatred as she stared at Ella reproachfully.

Aaron: Not matter what, I won’t let you harm Gui Gui in any way.

With that, he walked towards Gui Gui, trying to pull her towards him. However, to his surprise, Gui Gui retaliated and shoved Aaron away in fear.

Ella gave a sinister laugh before taking out a bottle of fresh blood.

Ella: *uncap the bottle* Gui Gui…is this what you are looking for?

Gui Gui turned abruptly to face Ella and her attention shifted swiftly towards the bottle of fresh blood that was in Ella’s hands.

Aaron could almost predict what was going to happen next- Gui Gui would be lured by Ella to take a sip of blood!

However, within another instance, Aaron could smell another strong scent of blood coming from behind him. It was rich and strong not to mention sweet and luring.
Aaron turned and was surprised that the blood came from Rainie. Rainie raised her right hand high up in the air where blood was oozing out from her self-inflicted wound. Rainie was trying to lure Gui Gui to them instead!

Hebe: Rainie! What are you doing?!

Rainie: To lure Gui Gui towards us instead.

Wu Xiong: Your blood…it’s different from others’…

Rainie: Of course it is…I’m a gypsy. Aaron…grab hold of Gui Gui tightly when she approaches us. We can’t let her take the blood.

Aaron nodded in agreement. Rainie was right, Gui Gui was instantly attracted by the strong scent of Rainie’s blood. It seemed so pure and delicious that no vampire could resist, especially Gui Gui, who was lusting for blood.

Gui Gui approached Rainie slowly and suspiciously, fearing that it might be some kind of trap as she had sensed the presence of other vampires (Aaron, Wu Xiong, Hebe) around Rainie. However, as she came closer to Rainie, the scent of the luring blood was so strong that Gui Gui could no longer resist.

Gui Gui pounced forward but Aaron managed to caught hold of her and he held her tightly in his embrace, knocking her unconscious.

Ella frowned upon the scene and she beckoned her vampire followers to launch their attack on Aaron.

However, at this point of time, George, Xiu and Han jumped out of the house and landed in front of Ella, fending Aaron from the vampire assassins.

Ella took a few steps backwards as she shook slightly in fear.

Ella: Fine….if you guys want her that badly…take it! Aaron Yan, you won’t be able to survive for more than 3 days from now. Treasure your last days!

With that, Ella fled from the scene with her followers. When George was about to give chase, Aaron stopped him.

Aaron: No, let her go. Let’s bring Gui Gui to safety

----An Hour Later---

Rainie knocked on the mysterious-looking door for three times before the door opened on its own. The rest of the team were taken aback by this.

With that, Rainie signaled them to follow her right into the house, which was sort of weirdly decorated with crystal balls and secretive jars.

Without another doubt, Aaron and Xiu knew that it was a house belonging to a gypsy. Just as expected, someone walked down from the flight of stairs slowly and elegantly. She looked sweet and gorgeous.

Rainie: Selina….

Selina: I know why you are here.

Rainie: Can you help?

Selina: I wouldn’t have let you in if I can’t.

Rainie gave a smile and turned to the rest: This is Selina, my best friend. She is the best gypsy I had ever known.

Selina: Don’t flatter me for the sake of it.

She walked slowly and cautiously towards them and stopped right in front of Aaron. She touched Aaron’s face and took in a deep breath.

Selina: Your sacrifice had brought you troubles. Your time is short and it’s difficult to get it back.

Hebe: *Worried* What will happen? Will Aaron be saved?!

Selina stared intensely at Hebe before saying: You will take the ultimate sacrifice, for love and for friendship. I admire your courage but your sacrifice might not work in the end.

Hebe was taken aback by Selina’s words and Aaron looked at Hebe suspiciously as he felt something being hidden from him.

Rainie: Selina, can you save Gui Gui?

Selina: Of course I can…

Aaron: Really?! *Smiles*

Wu Xiong: How can we stop her from drinking blood so she won’t become a vampire?

Selina: *laugh* No, we don’t.

George: What do you mean?

Selina: I mean…we must give her blood in order to save her.

Aaron: Give her blood?!

Selina: Hebe…are you ready to take the sacrifice?

Hebe nodded her head, determined.

Aaron: Wait! What are you guys talking about?! Hebe, what’s going on?!

Selina: Don’t you know? Hebe is the only one who could save Gui Gui right now. If she doesn’t, Gui Gui would become a vampire and according to the prophecy, Gui Gui is most likely the vampire who would destroy the peace and tranquility in the vampire world!

Aaron: Hang on! What prophecy are you talking about? Why must Hebe be the only one who could save Gui Gui, I can also give Gui Gui blood!

Rainie: Aaron, it’s different. You…you are not a love rival of Gui Gui.

Wu Xiong: Love rival?!

Selina: Blood from the purest rival which buds from the love of the same root. Hebe is the only one who fulfilled this since she is in love with you and that she was one of the kindest vampire present.

Aaron: That was before! Hebe loved me but that was all in the past! Right, Hebe?
Aaron looked at Hebe but was astounded by the reaction that he got. Hebe avoided Aaron’s eyes and she looked at Selina.

Hebe: *hesitated* Selina’s right.

Aaron was bewildered by her statement as he had thought all along that Hebe was no longer in love with him. He tried his best to ignore this bothering fact and he turned his attention to the prophecy.

Aaron: Selina, what did you mean by the prophecy?

Selina: If a vampire was born mistakenly and had a root related to the Vampire Hunter, it will seek revenge in the vampire world and wrecked everything in its sight.

Xiu: Born mistakenly?

George: Yea….Gui Gui was injected the poison by Ella…she was a victim…

Rainie: Yea. She fits the description and if we don’t prevent her from being a vampire, we could no longer hold the peace and tranquility for long.

Aaron: Selina…there must be another way!

Selina: There isn’t. Rainie, bring Gui Gui into the guest room. Let them consider for the night… We will take action tomorrow before it’s too late.

Aaron shouted at the top of his lungs: Run!!! Get Gui Gui and flee!

Wu Xiong and Hebe looked at each other as they registered the message that Aaron had just sent them. They hesitated for a moment before Aaron called out to them once more.

Aaron: Now!

The chaotic situation had made it difficult to think and act. Enemy vampires were everywhere and what seemed worse was the fact that Aaron, George, Xiu, Wu Xiong and Hebe were outnumbered.

The help that Xiu had mentioned did not come and they had to fight alone. Xiu wondered if he had made a mistake in asking for help from Han.

Knowing that Aaron was right about fleeing the scene in order to protect Gui Gui, Wu Xiong and Hebe ran upstairs to Gui Gui, whom Rainie was taking care of.

Rainie: What happened?

Hebe: Didn’t you see this in your prediction? We are outnumbered!

Rainie: I couldn’t. Ella seemed to have placed a bounded spell and I couldn’t read into the near future so long as she is around.

Wu Xiong: All right, let’s get Gui Gui out of here.

Hebe and Rainie nodded and they helped the unconscious Gui Gui up.

----Downstairs in the hall---

The situation worsened with the loss of help from Wu Xiong and Hebe. Aaron, George and Xiu seemed to have a hard time handling all the vampires.

Aaron was battling Ella while George and Xiu were each handling a dozen vampires at the same moment.

Aaron: You improved.

Ella: So did you, Aaron Yan.

Aaron: So where’s your ally, Wu Zun?

Ella: You see, Aaron, unlike you, I learn from my mistake. That is, never to ask for partnership.

Aaron smirked as he strikes ruthlessly at Ella, who did not manage to escape from Aaron’s attack. Wounded on the right hand, Ella retreated a few steps from Aaron, trying to distract him with some talking.

Ella: Well, I guess this fight won’t last any longer.

Aaron: Because you guys are dying out?

Ella: No, because I would be getting what I want soon enough.

At the instance of the statement, Aaron thought of Gui Gui immediately. He attempted to rush upstairs but was hindered by Ella.

Ella: *pointing her daggers at him* We have yet to finish our fight.

With that, Ella threw three daggers towards Aaron but they all missed him.

Aaron: Then let’s end this quick!

Aaron wielded his sword skillfully and forcefully, with each move pushing Ella towards the edge of fear. Ella was unable to fend off the successive attacks from Aaron but she persisted.

Ella threw herself into a corner and she took out another three daggers, aiming at Aaron. However, she did not throw them towards him. Instead, she aimed it at George and Xiu, who were busy battling, not noticing the threat of Ella.

Aaron, realizing that George and Xiu would be wounded if this continues, jumped into the direction of the daggers, trying to fend them off for his teammates.

Aaron was successful in doing it for the George and Xiu but he did not expect the third dagger to fly in his direction so quickly.

Within another instant, Aaron was wounded in his arm by Ella’s flying dagger.

Ella gave a sinister laugh and she rushed upstairs.

Aaron: *retrieve the dagger from his arm* George, Xiu! She’s going to get Gui Gui!

Xiu: Aaron! You all right?! *Aaron nodded* We will take care of everything here, you go get Gui Gui!

With that, Aaron rushed upstairs without further hesitation.

----Upstairs----

Wu Xiong pierced her knife through the vampire’s heart and within a second, it disintegrated into vapor. She then hurried towards Gui Gui and Rainie, trying to continue the path of escape.

However, Hebe was caught up with a few other vampires.

Hebe: Wu Xiong, just go! I will take care of them!

Obeying the logical instructions, Wu Xiong hurried out of the room with Rainie while piggybacking Gui Gui.

However, things were not as smooth as it is. Standing at the doorway was Ella, wearing a smirk on her face that Wu Xiong had once sworn to tear that away.

Wu Xiong: Rainie, hold on to Gui Gui. I guess I would need to fight her first.

Ella: Fight me?! I don’t think you are at that level yet. Well, if you have a wish to end your vampire path, I could give you a hand.

With that, Ella dashed towards Wu Xiong unexpectedly with the speed of lightning and this appeared to have caught Wu Xiong off her guard.

Wu Xiong was thrown across the hallway by Ella, who was still bent on killing Wu Xiong. Just when Ella was about to stab Wu Xiong with her dagger, Ella was suddenly strangled by what seemed to be a long chain of metal pieces that came through the window which was located at the end of the hallway where Ella and Wu Xiong were battling.

With that, Ella was thrown off Wu Xiong and she knocked herself into the wall before collapsing onto the floor.

Wu Xiong got up and was surprised to see her savior- Han.

Han jumped through the window smartly and she turned her attention to Wu Xiong.

Han gave a small nod at Wu Xiong: Are you all right?

Wu Xiong: I’m…fine. Thank you

Just then, Aaron got upstairs and he readily picked Gui Gui up and led Rainie towards Wu Xiong and Han.

Aaron: Han…Xiu’s downstairs.

Han nodded before rushing downstairs. Just then, Hebe came out of Gui Gui’s room with a triumph smile on her face. It seemed like she had really taken care of the vampires.

Aaron: Let’s go!

With that, Aaron jumped through the window while carrying Gui Gui in his hands. Although his landing was painful, he managed to tide through it.

Following Aaron, Wu Xiong, Hebe and Rainie jumped out of the window.

Aaron: Let’s go!

Just when Aaron was about to pick Gui Gui up again, he suddenly felt a sharp jab of pain in his arm. It was the wound caused by Ella.

Aaron knelt down suddenly and he loosened his grip on Gui Gui, who landed onto the grass softly.

Hebe: Aaron!

Wu Xiong: What happened?!

Aaron: The dagger, there must be poison.

Wu Xiong: Poison?! What poison is that?!

Rainie: Let me take a look.

The wound had miraculously formed the shape of a canine and blood trickled down the arm of Aaron. The wound did not seem to heal.

Aaron: What poison is that?

Rainie: It’s….Ella….she made this poison and she would give to the vampire assassins before sending them out for missions.

Wu Xiong: That’s….that’s the poison which would disintegrate the assassins after a period of time?!

Rainie: *Frowned* I’m not sure but it seemed to be that….

Hebe: What should we do now?!

Rainie: It would cause some pain but the effect won’t take place for another three days.

Aaron: If that’s the case, don’t worry about me. Let’s get Gui Gui out of here.

Just before Aaron was able to carry Gui Gui again, Ella jumped from the window and landed right in front of them.

Aaron: Do you think you can stop us now?

Ella: Aaron Yan, you already know you have been poisoned by me. Gui Gui or yourself, you choice. Antidote for your wound and I get Gui Gui.

Aaron: No way!

Ella: Well, even if you don’t agree, I guess Gui Gui’s still mine. *laughs*

Aaron: What do you mean?

Ella: Look at her.

To Aaron’s surprise, Gui Gui was regaining consciousness but she was not the usual her. Gui Gui rolled on the floor, groaning in pain.

Wu Xiong: *grabbed Gui Gui* Gui Gui!!!

However, Gui Gui pushed Wu Xiong away and she stood up slowly.

Aaron walked towards her and looked at Gui Gui.

Gui Gui smiled and what shocked the rest was the fact that two sharp canines was visible upon her smile…

George sat on the couch as various thoughts crosses his mind incoherently. He overheard the conversation that Rainie had with Wu Xiong and he wondered if Rainie was speaking the truth. Somehow, he couldn’t bring himself to trust her completely but if he were to doubt her and she happened to be truthful to her, he would be bearing all the guilt alone.

George: *sighs* What should I do?

Just then, Rainie knocked on his door even though it’s not closed.

Rainie: Can I come in?

George: *taken aback* Yea…

Rainie: I need to tell you something

George: *interrupts* If it’s about us, I think it can wait. I am not ready to trust you completely yet but I guess you aren’t totally lying…

Rainie: Well, actually, I was intending to tell you something else.

Silence hung in the air and it was so awkward that George and Rainie finds it hard to bear.

George was the first to break this unwanted and awkward silence.

George: What did you wanted to tell me?

Rainie: It’s about Xiu.

George: You know where he is?

Rainie: *nodded* Yea. Do you intend to find him?

George: Of course. We need to find him or it would be tougher to fight Ella tomorrow.

Rainie: All right. I guess that’s all.

With that, Rainie walked towards the door and paused for a while, saying: I’m glad you are starting to trust me a little more.

George looked at her as she walked out of the room. He tried his very best to forgo the thoughts of Rainie and start to concentrate on the thought of saving Xiu from Wu Zun and Han. To encourage the latter thought, George decided to head out to find Aaron.

----At the same time---

In another town

Han: What are you thinking about?

Xiu: Nothing

Han: Her?

Xiu: *sighs* It’s none of your business

Han: I never thought you would say something like this to me.

Xiu: Han….I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it.

Han: It’s all right, Xiu. Anyway, where do you intend to go?

Xiu: *puzzled* What do you mean?

Han: I don’t intend to stay in this town. Let’s go somewhere else, just the two of us. Like before.

Xiu: Han….

Han: *forced smile* I knew it. I knew you would give me that. Well, I don’t mind, of course. *Smiles* I knew it wasn’t like before.

Xiu: I’m sorry.

Han turned her back on Xiu, withholding tears in her eyes: Just go.

With that, Xiu headed towards the door and with just one last look at Han, Xiu walked out of the room quietly.

----Moments later---

Wu Zun: Why did you do that?

Han: That’s something you don’t know about- Love.

Wu Zun gave a sarcastic laugh: I had never known about this in my entire vampire life.

Han: That’s because you never used your heart to feel for things.

With that, Han walked away, leaving Wu Zun with the statement that he could never seem to understand.

---The cottage house---

An Hour later

Aaron: You want to head out tonight?

George had told Aaron about Xiu’s whereabouts and his plan on saving Xiu tonight.

George: It would definitely be better if we had Xiu’s help tomorrow.

Aaron: You are right. I had promised to save Xiu and I think its best we act fast.

George: But the both of us can’t just go together. What if Ella had decided to act early?

Just then, someone entered into the room, calling out to the two of them: Hey, looking for me?

Aaron and George looked closely at the figure standing at the door, taken aback by the sight.

Aaron: Xiu?!

Xiu: Yea, the authentic one *smirks*

George: How…how did you?

Aaron: Does Wu Xiong know about it?

Xiu: Well, I was actually able to see you guys slightly earlier but Wu Xiong hugged me for a whole 10minutes so I was slightly late…. *laughs*

Aaron: But…how did you get out? *amazed*

Xiu: Han let me out. She was, afterall, *solemn* a good vampire.

Just then, Wu Xiong came rushing into the room: *panting* She’s awake!!

No needing another hint, Xiu, Aaron and George knew who Wu Xiong were talking about and they rushed out of the room almost immediately.

----Another Room---

Aaron: *Nervous* Gui Gui! Gui Gui!

Gui Gui was right there, lying in her bed, with Hebe and Rainie standing beside her.
Aaron rushed to her side and held onto Gui Gui’s hands: Gui Gui!

Gui Gui gave a little smile at Aaron but she did not say anything.

Aaron: *tears welled up his eyes* Gui Gui…

Just when Gui Gui was about to speak, she suddenly lost control of herself and her body shook strong as she screamed in pain.

Aaron: Gui Gui! Gui Gui!! *panics* What’s happening to her?!

Rainie: Hold her tightly!!! She’s experiencing the same thing as you had experienced before!

Aaron and George grabbed hold of Gui Gui with all their might and eventually, for what seemed like eternity, Gui Gui had ran out of energy and had fainted abruptly.

----An hour later---

Gui Gui’s Room

Rainie: Gui Gui’s condition had gotten serious and it had occurred early than I had expected. I’m sorry.

Wu Xiong: It’s not your fault. But…Gui Gui seemed to be stronger than Aaron was before….

Aaron: What will happen tomorrow?

Rainie: If I’m not wrong….she would get stronger…….It would be more strenuous to protect Gui Gui while resisting her retaliation.

Aaron: We need more help.

Xiu: I know where to get them…

---The next night----

The moon hung in the sky in a lonely fashion as no one in the house was in the mood to admire it. Aaron stood right beside Gui Gui and looked at her face which showed a peaceful expression, as if she was having her nap. How he wished that she was really having a peaceful siesta.

Aaron: *touches her face* Gui Gui… I would do anything to get you back….

Just then, Hebe rushed into the room with a solemn expression.

Hebe: They have come…

Aaron held on tightly to his sword as he looked at Hebe.

Aaron: Then we shall fight with all our might…

Aaron: A real hunter? How?

Rainie: For years, although Gui Gui had been a normal person, she did not know the hidden powers within her. In fact, she is the minority of the Hunter’s world where one of her parent is not a hunter. However, kids would often be mistaken as a normal child with no extraordinary powers but people are often wrong. Given the right circumstances and the ability to face the real challenge, a normal person with the Hunter’s bloodline could be a hunter.

Aaron: The right circumstances? What do you mean?

Rainie: These are extraordinary circumstances where most would want to avoid. That’s because, the real challenge would be so hard that it’s almost impossible to overcome.

George: You mean Gui Gui’s situation right now?

Rainie: Aaron, how did you feel when you became a vampire, well, half a vampire?

Aaron: *hesitated* Weird….it felt like something new in me. When Calvin injected the so called trigger into me, I felt terrible. Warm and cold currents rise in me that was so hard to fight. I eventually was injected with another trigger that made me a vampire.

Rainie: Aaron chose to become a vampire but he was a full-fledged hunter then. Hence, he could be half a hunter at the same time. Gui Gui does not have the luxury of that. Either she turns into a hunter; or dies and become a vampire.

Aaron: *anxious* How can we prevent the latter from happening?

Rainie: *sighs* Like what you have experienced, Gui Gui is experiencing it right now. Perhaps even more painful that what you have gone through. She had to first overcome her greatest desire for blood, if not, we cannot harbor any more hopes on her becoming a hunter.

George: We just had to keep an eye on her then.

Rainie: *Shakes her head* It wouldn’t be that simple. The night of her greatest and strongest lust of blood would bring her greater power.

George: When would that be?

Aaron: *frowned* Tomorrow night, when it’s full moon. Ella once told me that the powers of the person who drank the blood would peak when it’s full moon.

Rainie: *nodded in agreement* Her strength and ability will be stronger than anyone of you could imagine so we need to be prepared for it. If we let her have the first sip of blood, we would not be able to reverse what is going to happen after that

Aaron: We totally couldn’t reverse it?!

Rainie hesitated for a moment before nodding her head slowly.

Hebe: *frowned* We need to well up our defense against Ella too. We must be reminded that she, too, knows of this vital information. If I’m not wrong, she would try means and ways to foil our plan since her revenge act was a total wrecked attempt.

Wu Xiong nodded in agreement: We must make sure that Gui Gui is kept in a safe place.

Rainie: No. Gui Gui should be LOCKED in a safe place.

Aaron: Let’s draw up a plan. We can’t afford to lose time.

----In the backyard----

Aaron walked into the quiet backyard, carrying his thoughts and worries with him. How he wished he could throw all of these away. Whenever he was in trouble, Gui Gui used to be the only person who could share his burdens, his only soul-mate who could understand him. But right now, he seemed to be all alone, just like the times before he knew Gui Gui.

Aaron had never known joy, happiness, love and contentment before he met Gui Gui. He still remembers the very first time he met her- on the night bus. He could never forget the innocent look on her face. He could never forget how Gui Gui had taught him how to create joy, appreciate happiness, embrace love and attain contentment.
Aaron looked at the moon, tears welled up his eyes.

Aaron: Gui Gui, how I wished you could be here, talking to me. I really can’t bear to see you suffer again. I have only brought you pain and misery, danger and worries in return for your love. I don’t know what to do…

‘You can try your very best to get the life back, the life where you and Gui Gui once had. The life where she would smile at you every morning she sees you.’ Someone gave an answer to Aaron’s question.

Aaron: Hebe. Thanks…

Hebe: Don’t worry, Gui Gui will be fine. She always will be blessed with luck and blissfulness. You must not give up on any hopes, she wouldn’t want you to do so. You need to pull yourself together, for her, for yourself.

Aaron: *smiles* Thank you for being here with us. Thank you.

Hebe: Don’t worry about it. *smiles* you and Gui Gui are my best friends. I would never let anything happen to you guys.

Aaron smiled at her warmly.

Hebe POV: Even if it means taking my life.

----In one of the rooms in the cottage house---

An hour later

Rainie: Have you talked to Aaron already?

Hebe: I didn’t tell him anything about what you have told me.

Rainie: And I assume you are doing so because you have already intended on sacrificing yourself?

Hebe: You can say that.

Rainie: I wouldn’t let you do that unless it’s under critical situation.

Hebe: I understand. Look, I don’t care what you see in your predictions, I just wanna save Gui Gui from becoming a monster like me.

Rainie: *sighs* Gui Gui would become the threat of peace and happiness in the vampire world if she were to become a vampire. I could see this in my predictions. If she were to take a drop of human blood, becoming a vampire would be inevitable unless

Hebe: I told you, I understand. Whatever it is, I will do my best to prevent her from taking that sip of blood but if we can’t stop it, I know what to do.

Rainie: Hebe, are you sure about this?

Hebe: *determined* I have never been so sure before.

With that, Hebe headed towards the door before stopping at the door for a while.

Hebe: Rainie, please don’t tell anyone about this. I don’t want to put them in a difficult spot and since I am the only one who could sacrifice, I see no reason why we should alert the rest.

Rainie: I get what you mean, Hebe.

Hebe: Good.

With that, she left the room, leaving Rainie behind.

Rainie: *mumbles to herself* You are doing all these because of Aaron. You are still in love with him. Hebe, your love for him is so deep that you could sacrifice yourself?

----The next day----

Afternoon

It was noon and the sun was shining brightly at every single thing on the Earth. However, Aaron and the team’s mood were not as bright as the sunshine.

Gui Gui had not been conscious since yesterday and the team had been busy, trying to find a location in the house where they could safely lock Gui Gui at.

Any vampire would be glad to stay in their bed in this scorching hot weather but not Aaron. He had not taken a wink since yesterday but he wasn’t tired at all. He didn’t want to be tired, he knew he must be ready for what is coming.

In addition to all these bustling plans and work in progress, there was one person who felt as worse as Aaron. It was Wu Xiong.

Wu Xiong sat at the stone slab beside the window and stared into blank space. She wasn’t even noticing the sun rays that were shone directly at her. All she could think of was the safety and whereabouts of Xiu.

Rainie walked towards Wu Xiong and sat beside her.

Wu Xiong: *looks up* It’s you.

Rainie: I saw Xiu in my sight.

Wu Xiong brightened up immediately: Where is he right now?

Rainie: He is in safety, don’t worry. I’m sorry I can’t predict his whereabouts. It was so near yet so far. Perhaps they had already prepared themselves to fend off my predictions. After all, Wu Zun and Han knew I was with you guys.

Wu Xiong: But you told me you could help me with finding Xiu?!

Rainie: I know I made a promise and I have no intention to go against it. Trust me. At least I had predicted his safety. Isn’t that the most important concern of yours?
Wu Xiong: I know you are right, but somehow, I need to see him personally. I used to feel his presence even when he’s not around. But I can’t feel it right now. *sobbing*

Rainie gave her a warming hug: Don’t worry, Wu Xiong, I’m sure you could see him soon.
